Positive Thinking: Gratitude HAS to be the Attitude

I’m thankful that I woke up this morning. I tell people in seminars all the time that like, when I wake up in the morning, I’m like, whew, it didn’t happen last night. You know what I’m saying? Like, it didn’t happen last night. Like I woke up and I’m alive!

Hey, what’s up.  Today we’re gonna be talking about the power of positive thinking and just positivity in general. You know, it’s kind of one of those things that you can’t pour water into a cup that’s got a hole in the bottom of it, it’s gonna drain out. That’s how negativity is. But, I also wanna make sure that we don’t just glaze over the top of this because maybe if you’re watching this right now, you’re going through some stuff and you’re like, Coach, I get it dude, be positive, but it’s hard as hell right now to be positive.

I get that.  When I lost my fitness center back in 2017, that was probably one of the most difficult times, if not the most difficult time in my business career. We had bought this fitness center and had grown by 300% in 18 months. It seemed like we just were on top of the world.  Then, I had a real estate agent just absolutely take me to the cleaners. And we were in a scramble.  A tree had fallen on my house at the time and I was living in the back of the gym. I mean, like, it just couldn’t get any worse it seemed like. But I just remember being on the couch one night and just like crying in the fetal position, like a little ***** just telling Tori like, how did this happen? How did we get here? How are we going to bounce back from this?  I just lost a half a million dollars worth of real estate and a company that was doing six figures. And she told me, she said, “Hey, it’s okay. We just gotta stay positive.” And it’s so true.

It’s so easy to get sucked into the negativity of what’s going on in the world.  I had a conversation with my assistant Christine the other day and she told me, she said, “Hey, we got two legs and two arms.” And that’s so true. Like there’s somebody out there, no matter how bad it’s going for you, there’s somebody out there that’s missing an arm or leg and you could have it a lot worse. But, I also don’t want to just take away from if you’re hurting right now, if you’re going through something that’s bad, if you’re going through something that’s got you depressed. I understand that some days, man, maybe just getting up and taking a shower is  the accomplishment, right? Maybe that’s the positivity that you have to find, but you have to find something.

There’s something to be positive about and I always like to root that in gratitude. Tony Robbins taught me that gratitude has to be the attitude.  So one little activity that you can do is when you’re down on your luck, you’re having a bad time, it’s really hard to be positive, is to sit down and make a gratitude list.  It might be as dumb as like I’m thankful that I have my arms and my legs. I’m thankful that I woke up this morning. You know, I tell people in seminars all the time that like, when I wake up in the morning, I’m like, whew, it didn’t happen last night. You know what I’m saying? Like, it didn’t happen last night!  I woke up and I’m alive and that’s like, that’s the number one battle we all have to face every day. And so take a journal out, write things down, spend some time getting some solitude and in a quiet space where you can share with your thoughts and write down in your journal things that you’re thankful for. What’s one thing, one thing that you’re thankful for? Think about it right now. Take a second. Just what’s one thing you’re thankful for. Maybe it is, you can use mine. You woke up this morning. That’s a great one. It’s kind of important. What’s another thing you can be thankful for? You know, you have reliable transportation, you have a roof over your head, you have a family that loves you. I saw a meme one time and it had two cell phones and on each cell phone it had dad and on the other one it said mom. And it said, if you still get these calls, you’re the luckiest person in the world.

So, while my channel is all about helping you weaponize and close big money deals and get up the ladder of success and achieve everything that you want in life, I think it’s also important that I make videos like this that say, hey, if you’re hurting and you’re in a bad place right now, it’s okay, it happens. But using a tool like gratitude, to be able to pull yourself back together and get back on that path of positivity is super important.

Here’s to your success
