D.J. In his own life, he has embraced the role of entrepreneur, starting and growing strong businesses and then selling them—just to start on another exciting project. He finds the energy, skills, and passion for growing businesses to be something that he is constantly eager to experience.

Growing up, he was surrounded by lots of inspired entrepreneurs, but admittedly, they were the type that focused on the wrong opportunities. This impacted him greatly, as he saw many exceptionally smart peoples’ lives ruined, including some of his own family members. Cousins that had been locked up, over dosed or even killed by drug related gun violence—all because they took the allure of easy money. Arrested twice by the age of 23, he knew that he had to make a change. Due to a move where a different perspective was offered, DJ was able to choose the path of entrepreneurialism and he’s never looked back since, saying, “I chose to mow grass instead of sell it,” when referring to his first successful business launch. This choice has positively impacted many lives and developed the leader and expert that Coach Carroll is noted to be. Today, he has succeeded at growing many businesses and also helping others to do the same thing.
